Johnston Ridge Observatory still had tons of people, even this late in the year.

This was an awesome 3 day backpacking adventure. I had never been in this area before. The flowers were still somewhat alive and the weather was perfect. The smoke from the wild fires to the south made some of the views a bit hazy. I was able to see all 3 of the major Washington cascade mountains. Probably the view of Rainer I can ever remember seeing.

A rewarding hike to Fern Lake at Rocky Mountain National Park. We were getting over a head cold, but still made it. There was a waterfall along the way, and the lake is so peaceful and surrounded by peaks. On our way back we spotted a family of elk in the woods and was able to get some neat shots before heading back to the trailhead.

This was a bit of a rehabilitation hike as I'm trying to get my knee back to normal. It was a beautiful day and the lakes were nice but there were plenty of people on the trail. On our way back there were many backpackers hoping to find a site at Twin Lakes. The parking lot had 21 cars in it when we finished.

Not much of a few up on Newton Bald. Was an old cattle grazing spot, just like the other balds, except this one hasn't been kept clear by the parks dept. Hard climb for not much of a view.
