Our son joined us on a hike where I did a lot of backtracking because Kevin was taking a long time taking photos.

Kevin wanted to see some colors and it sure beat putting on snowshoes. We hiked to South Falls Saturday night, then the loop on Sunday and I doubled back from North Falls to South Falls looking for my cell phone. Thank you to whoever turned it into the Lodge. You made my day and my husband chose not to kill me. See, I lost my puffy the week prior.

Just wanted to take advantage of a small window of rain free time and catch some stars. We slept under the Big Dipper and the Milky Way and got some nice photos. This morning, we hiked out in a little bit of spit, but the rain held off until we were on our way home.

Had a chance to go out with our son and a few friends. The friends cancelled, so we spent a windy night (put some rocks in our tent) with our adult son and then hiked in the morning. Lots of stars and The Milky Way.

Started late Friday night on the Timberline Trail and went clockwise for the first time. Last four have been counter clockwise. There were a fair amount of people doing the same loop. Great weather & very few bugs but the river crossings always get me.

A quick overnight on the PCT, then a zip up to Palmer and back down. Well, not exactly a zip, but I only crawled in two spots.

With the mountain in a drizzly cloud, we headed to the Gorge.
4.5 miles / 2,250 feet gained
My son was interested in hiking where there was a view. Well, we were in a cloud the entire time. It was nice regardless.

Just wanted to catch some stars and this was Plan B. We were headed to Badger Creek Wilderness when we decided to switch plans. It turned into a lovely night.
10 miles / 3,000 feet gained / 1 night
We saw more people on this trail than ever before.
8 miles / 3,000 feet gained / 1 night
Snow started at 6100' and was glorious on the final slog up to the shelter.

Spent the night a out of boundary of Timberline, continued up the dirt to past Palmer where we crossed and followed footprints up towards Hood. Our sights kept getting loftier. First goal was the base of Crater Rock, then a little higher, the shoot for 10,000". We made it to 10,150". I have always wanted to get higher on Hood and yesterday was the day.

Once again, we started hiking at 9pm, spent the night and continued up to Palmer this morning. Glissading down 1,000' has to be one of the funnest things I've done in a long time. After watching countless people slide down the chute, I switched my backpack so it wouldn't drag and went for it. The GPS clocked me at 8 and 9 mph. Whooo!

Another late start. We carved out a little spot because there was a group by the campground. It turned out to be the scout troop our son Eagled with.
