After work backpack. Like we started hiking at 9pm and were in bed by 1am after lots of photos. Added elevation since I missed adding it to October 4th trek.

Headed west of Timberline on the PCT past Little Zig Zag Canyon for a night under the stars, then explored in the morning.

After work night hike and Sunday afternoon cider party gave us a squeek of time to get under one of the last Milky Way cores before next spring. Not sure I'm ready for winter yet.

A change of plans due to Covid. We did an easy hike from Timberline to get out for the night.

My sixth time around and still rivers take a lot of time and thought. This is the first time I didn't have a family member with me, rather two friends. We worked together and had a great time. My husband joined us for the first very short 1.5 mile hike so we could get Milky Way shots and were able to see the Starlink Satellites.

Gorgeous, but hard trek on many unmaintained trails with a fair amount of rain.

Started hiking at 9pm after a work day. The Milky Way was out. Saw trail runners finishing and they reported the Timberline Trail is open for business.

Quick night out after work. Hiking at dusk was outrageously gorgeous in all directions and the Milky Way was visible later in the night.

Everything was more perfect than we anticipated. A friend joined us, beautiful weather, no clouds, the Milky Way and best was spotting the Northern Lights over Hood River.

Beautiful clear night, but in a sandstorm. We found a spot to tuck into out of the high winds and saw the entire Milky Way Arch. In the morning, we hiked up to Marmot Rock and then back down to White River. The TT has mounds of snow, but it's passable ~~ even by

Rain held off until the last mile. Great hike and visit with our son and his girlfriend.

Last minute decision to hit the Grand Canyon before a late night flight home. We revisited the same trail we did when our youngest was 5 years old and the others 8 and 9. We are so glad we started them out early because they still all love the outdoors.

Started backpacking at 9pm and had a tired husband after a long week at work so we only hiked 3/4 mile in snowshoes to set up our tent. Stars were out, but not totally brilliant. Smoke from AZ? High thin clouds? With so much snow and a clear day, Timberline was packed to the brim and turning away people coming up at 9am. We vacated a spot for someone.

Kind of brutal, but beautiful day giving out Easter candy to every other hiker.

Late night hike on a full moon to spend the night in decent temps.

Night Hike like always. Group camped where we usually stay, but they were in their tent so we very quietly set up a bit away. Gorgeous sunrise by ourselves.

New Year's Eve with two of our adult kids and a girlfriend. It was the girlfriend's first time snow camping and it was 9 degrees. She was a champ but no one got good sleep. However, we did see the fireworks from Timberline Lodge.
