Loving the bike shuttle these days. Hike up trail, ride down old logging road. Lets me get out there, but diminishes the hip damage. Love the forest in the rain. Found a hole in the weather and went to see the local wildlife with our daughter and her friend. Saw deer, red tail hawks, harrier hawk, many bittren, red headed wood-pecker, bunny, bullfrog and maybe even a golden eagle. The girls enjoyed it and it was nice getting out of the house.

This was the start of my wife Christy and I's roadtrip into Canada. With most of the high country in ONP still covered in snow, we chose to head out to the beach. The second overland crossing was intense—ropes, ladders, and lots of mud. The beach at Scott Creek is amazing though. It even comes complete with a perfect bouldering rock.

In the end, I guess my takeaway was, "okay, checked that one off!" I know a lot of folks really like this hike, and there are some compelling reasons to do so. We also took them out to see Mosier Falls before dinner at Full Sail and a walk along the sand bar in Hood River. Next time we are going to use this trailhead to go out to Wahclella.
