Mid spring outing to see the bloom, get some sun. I've been doing more biking than hiking as of late.

February 7, 2016 Hannum Spring 8 miles 3,250 feet gained

A really strenuous outing, but a really beautiful day up high on Mt Hood.

January 31, 2016 Elk Meadows 6 miles 1,000 feet gained

Nice snowshoe hike in a wooded forest, a mix of wide roadbed and narrow trails. A couple of viewpoints, though the mountain didn't quite cooperate. Good snowfall amounts, more than I've seen in years.

January 10, 2016 Washington Cascades 5.5 miles 2,750 feet gained

An incredibly beautiful day snowshoeing the slopes of Mt Rainier. We traveled up to Panorama Pt, then beyond to a traverse below McClure Rock and into a large bowl east of Paradise. Conditions were pretty much perfect, even a bit warm. Hard crust on top of powder, avalanche danger was moderate.
