Delightful ramble up, just a bit past the old abandoned ranch, and back down the Deschutes. Probably the only place in the entire PNW where it wasn't dumping buckets. Wow a second day of sun in the last week. I spent the day wandering around the old service roads and meadows at the top of Tracy Hill. Lots of water everywhere. Ran into another hiker that I just know from online with his amazing dog Rigby. Had lunch at a secret meadow with a view of Mt Hood. The flowers are just starting. A fantastic day.

Flowers starting to bloom sporadically, river running strong and a sunny clearing in the afternoon. No ticks!! We strolled down to the boxcar and wandered down to the river a few times. Wonderful day.

Had a nice walk up the Klickitat River to just past MP8 and back, enjoyed a fresh slice of raspberry pie à la mode in the Lyle Diner, then (since it wasn't yet dark) did a loop around the Lower Catherine Creek area and found the first grass widows of Spring! Really nice day with blue skies and (mostly) bare/dry trails!
