42.5 miles / 11,250 feet gained / 4 nights

My sixth time around and still rivers take a lot of time and thought. This is the first time I didn't have a family member with me, rather two friends. We worked together and had a great time. My husband joined us for the first very short 1.5 mile hike so we could get Milky Way shots and were able to see the Starlink Satellites.

August 13 to August 15, 2022 / Jen

There were about 50 cars at the Phelps Creek Trailhead, but all were headed to Spider Gap and we only saw a few groups on our 3 day trip. Easy side scramble up to Carne Mountain. We saw a fire blow up down on Wenatchee Ridge. Menacing. The smoke came in and out the next two days, but the majority of it was blown eastward and skies were mostly clear. We campe...

I signed up for a pika monitoring gig. This was the only day I had to visit the site this month. I knew it was a bad choice. Late start, and arrived as the heat of the day was turning from warm to hot. Pikas not likely to be active, but I did see sign and heard one peep.

July 26 to July 28, 2022 / Father Guido Sarducci

14.5 miles / 9,000 feet gained / 2 nights

Climbed via the DC route. Since I am 61 summited the old man way with 1 night at camp Muir then a short 2nd day setting up camp at Ingraham Flats. Due to the hot weather snow was slushy which was a pain. Firmed up about 1000’ from the summit. I guess the freezing level was a bit over 17,000’. On Wednesday left camp at 11 pm and reached the summit at 3:30. We...

Shuksan climb. We hiked in to Lake Ann which is still mostly frozen. Found running water just east of it, beautiful campsite. So much snow up here, including in one of the Fischer Chimneys. Took us longer than expected to ascend, but it was so beautiful! Our leader called it at the base of the summit pinnacle, concerned about getting back before dark. Well i...

Beautiful day but definitely an adventure. We parked at Multnomah Falls. 400 trail over to Oneonta. Amazing views of the upper gorge. Up to Franklin Ridge. Once we got into the burn on Franklin Ridge it was crazy amounts of six foot plus brush covering the trail. Once you start descending from the ridge it started clearing up. Then we took the Larch Mountain...

June 25 to June 26, 2022 / runandsew

Beautiful clear night, but in a sandstorm. We found a spot to tuck into out of the high winds and saw the entire Milky Way Arch. In the morning, we hiked up to Marmot Rock and then back down to White River. The TT has mounds of snow, but it's passable ~~ even by
