On a rainy Thursday afternoon, we went for a quick afternoon hike. The clouds made for a great layered view of the Gorge today. Contrary to Kyle's TR, I believe this hike was just shy of 2,000 feet elevation gain.

Went for a quick jaunt to make use of the shit-tacular weather provided to us by April. It was literally a quick jaunt—we ran about a third of the trip, completing the 6 miles and 1700' in less than two hours. I was surprised by how beautiful and well maintained the Wahkeena trail is. I want to go back with a pair of my fivefinger shoes and jog the loop.

Decent conditioning hike, moderately difficult but nothing too strenuous. Muddy trail (especially Foxglove Tr.), hailstorms, and wind, but otherwise a nice spring hike. No views to speak of at the top. Switchbacks coming down Wahkeenah were a bit tedious.

Hiked to the silcox hut in a whiteout, in a rope team for practice. All of my gear became encrusted in ice, I had ice crystals formed on my cheek, and sizeable icicles hanging from my hat. It. Was. Awesome.

I hadn't been here before . . . a nice hike. We got to the trailhead kinda late in the day (around 3) so the sun that we had early on gave way to an intense, frigid wind and temperature drop. There were only three big patches of snow still left on the trail.

Old favorite with new friends. Coyote wall is reliably dry, and most of the time, Sunny, even when it is rainy or cloudy anywhere to the West. Love the open feel and views, as they make up for the non-wilderness setting and semi-short loop. Tried to continue on at top of the road but the pasture gate sign said no canines so we returned back to the car.
