Fantastic day! No bugs and lots of shade loving flowers in the woods. The flowers in the saddle were at peak bloom and the beargrass was blooming in patches from just below Burnt lake to the top. A little hazy but all five volcanoes were visible. Went a bit beyond the top but decided it was to hot to explore further.

Took off from Grouse Vista up to the Indian Pits to Silver Star to Sturgeon Rock then back via Tarbell. I planned to hit Little Baldy but it was just too hot so I wimped out. My plans fell through this weekend. Not wanting to drive too far, I hiked Hamilton Mountain. I got to the TH in the afternoon, and by the time I reached the Hardy Creek trail, I had cleared most of the people. I hiked all the way out on the Upper Hardy Creek trail, then to the Saddle, summit, and back down. Berries are ripening along the Hardy Creek trail.
