5 miles of hiking • 1000' elevation gain •

Goofed around in the woods for a few hours setting out my game camera, and exploring Greenleaf Falls. Visited the mysterious moss covered scree field reported by Don Nelson last year, and I noticed in Google Earth, there is another larger one nearby- due east.

How do you get to Don's scree field? Was thinking about checking it out but was on the end of my 18 mile hike and had to get back into town, next time for sure I want to check his scree field out! Nice job :)

Eric, I have the hike marker centered on the scree field. It is on the west side of Greenleaf Creek. Multiple ways you can approach. You can park at "Camp David" on Blue Lake road and walk up the gravel access road, fork left at the first junction, and the road will go west, then turn south. You have to bushwack over to the creek- many trees to cross on and keep your feet dry. You could also drop down from the Two Chiefs trail, or head up from the PCT- north of the PCT, I recommend staying on the west side of the creek. Interesting forest in there, have fun!

Oops, I zoomed in, I didn't walk through that, walked through the old scree field that's just before the 2 pronged Cave Falls on the creek...
