❄ Snowmageddon2012 day#2
Bummed out once the snow turned to rain, I headed for high ground after hearing skyline blvd had 6 inches. It was a darn slushy walk with the rain and the snow .... The rain turned to snow around the wildwood trail, so I stopped and made a mini snowman. ☃ About 5-6 inches of slushy snow up near the skyline entrance...
Snowmageddon day #3 .... didnt make it to the park... the rivers of melting snow and enormous downed limbs were a bit of a deterrent.
Snowmageddon is over folks, hope you enjoyed it!
FP- Almost winter wonderland, Snowmageddon- wildwood, hardesty, leif, springville
4.5 miles of hiking • 500' elevation gain •
1st day of Snowmageddon 2012. The snow was sticking pretty good, I'm always impressed by people who can ride their bikes in 2 inches of snow... I've never had success with snow biking...
FP- springville, Leif, Hardesty, trillium, wildwood
5 miles of hiking • 500' elevation gain •
just another day in FP
January 7, 2012

Warrior rock lighthouse/ Sauvie Island
9 miles of hiking • 0' elevation gain •
It started out nice and clear with some mountain views but soon the rain kicked in. Saw quite a few hikers, many more than I had expected.
The lighthouse was cool, smaller than I expected... the abandoned house foundation/chimney and fireplace was pretty neat too. Only saw a few birds... on account of the hunters. Glad I had on my (everyday) bright orange jacket.
It was nice to hike on the Columbia, but I need to get out to the Gorge pronto!
Forest Park- springville/leif erickson/ hardesty trails- 1st hike of 2012
3.5 miles of hiking • 500' elevation gain •
Nice warm, clear day for a hike, wanted to head to the Gorge but I knew weekend/holiday/nice weather was the trifecta for lame crowds. Managed to squeeze in a short hike before the sun set. YAY for a new year of hiking
