18 miles of hiking • 3750' elevation gain •

Horsetail, Ponytail, Triple, Creek Ford, Switchbacks And those Bell Creek Big Trees.

17.84 miles...

Thats a big one for me. All the things they say about the Bell Creek Giants are true. Massive Hemlock, and Fir and Cedar. Trail kinda sucks, overgrown with devils club and vine maple.
Pics to come, crossing the creek ford was fun, We had to think about it for a few minutes. I'm the king of dry socks!

That's some big miles! Did you do it out&back via Triple Falls, or down via the ROA?

Jiminy. Mike—I'll get the exact mileage thing fixed up soon!

Kyle - that'd be great! Can you also allow editing ones comments, and return "More weather details" link in the weather window? (so that one can look up next weekend's weather in that location :)

We Walked the length of Bell Creek 459, then to 424 on Franklin ridge and down past Triple. Then we made another much smaller loop by dropping down to Oneonta Tr and walking back through the Wood Tunnel past the Canyon along the road back to the Car.

I wish we had pushed over to the eastern viewpoints before Nesmith, but got some good views from franklin ridge talus fields before the descent.

BTW - the newish map button rules Kyle. Props!

you can really see the difference in Forest age as you look back towards horsetail ridge.
i'll post pics when my homie emails them to me.
