Timberwolf went hiking May 17, 2011 7 miles 1,250 feet gained
The weather forecast from NOAA advised an 80% chance of rain. Knowing this, we decided to try this hike anyway, expecting a wall of fog and no views. What can I say? We love fog. We were in for a surprise, however, as one of the most magical days in existence unfolded before us. We started in mid-morning, arriving at the trail head a little later than anticipated because we had become engrossed in conversation and missed our turn from highway 101. It was sprinkling rain, but bright with an ambient light. As we climbed our way up, it cleared more and more to reveal all the depth in the deep blue sky. There were some clouds casting shadows over the ocean, and we stopped near the top to watch the weather move for awhile. It sprinkled on us again for a few minutes, but everything was still amazing. The day was blissful, and we drove back at a much more leisurely pace than normal, stopping along the way to visit monks and wineries. AWESOME DAY.
