Interesting conditions on Hood after all the heat - crevasses and bergschrund opened up on the glaciers. A little icy in the Hourglass but fun climbing. Old Chute was steeper and more frozen than previously, making the decent a little harder. Super slushy below the Hogsback. About a million people on the south side.

You weren't concerned about the warmth in the forecast? Seems a lot of folks weren't. The forecasted low for Friday night was 39º at 9600'.
Kyle - as expected, anything that was going to slide had already done so in the preceding week. On steeper slopes, mostly what was left was consolidated and pretty hard (it actually took some trying to find axe shaft placements). The Old Chute was way harder than when I was there on Easter. The Reid side also doesn't get sun until way later in the day. I wouldn't be out there in the afternoon, but in the early morning the only stuff coming down the Hourglass was kicked off by other climbers.
