Oh, I think they're legit. Just letting Roman know why these are and his walks in the park with his dog aren't (to keep the totals "correct"). :)
Hi Chris-sorry couldn't leave comments and then forgot when figured it out. What makes the hike legitimate? It was a new place, in the woods, and even some dirt so I think it is :) It is finally how it feels in the end (and no i'm not going to add dog walks).
Now I need to switch to higher gear or I will never catch up with your miles.

This calls into question whether or not there should be community guidelines for what is considered a "hike". Let me ask you this, Chris— did you sweat? Did you feel like you had a tender moment with mother nature? Was the only time you worried about a bear attack when you walked past the overweight man in vinyl with a hairy chest?
In all seriousness, I think these types of hikes are legitimate—they're ultimately for your own records after all. The humorous trip report makes it more enjoyable for others, too!
