November 2 to November 3, 2013 12.6 miles 2,250 feet gained 1 night

Did a loop of Lake Shore Trail, Lost Cove Trail, and then back down to the parking lot via the Appalachian Trail. Weather was perfect. Slight rain on the way into campsite 90, but cleared up to reveal bountiful stars. The next morning was the climb up to Shuckstack Firetower that produced limitless views in all directions.

July 19 to July 20, 2013 1 miles 1,750 feet gained 1 night

Out and back with an overnight in Icewater Spring shelter. Lots of loud snorers... Hike and views were good. Slightly overcast on the second day with some afternoon showers.

July 13, 2013 13.5 miles 3,500 feet gained

Neat hike. A bit long for a day hike, but was still nice. Cloud coverage most of the time, but made for a good temp.

May 24 to May 26, 2013 15.5 miles 3,500 feet gained 2 nights

Family hike (mother-, father-, and two sister-in-laws, plus my wife). 3 days, two nights. Absolutely incredible. It was a difficult hike, but well worth it. Saw the sun set and moon rise on Gregory Bald. Deer were grazing and walking up close to you.

March 10, 2013 7.5 miles 2,000 feet gained

Hiked up to the lookout tower on Frozenhead peak.
