July 3, 2012 3.5 miles 750 feet gained

Just a quick afternoon hike around Mt. Talbert. Going to return to extend the loop (to cover all portions of trail) and to grab some pictures.

This trip was an attempt to turn the Marquam Trail loop into something that is more than 10.0mi and 2,000ft elevation gain so I can classify it as one of my "goal hikes". I fell just short of my goal by about a half mile and 100ft elevation gain. Full Trip Report: http://www.dustindubois.com/2012/06/marquam-trail-hike-extended-06272012

February 4, 2012 30 miles 4,000 feet gained

Wildwood Trail 30 mile Through-Hike with some of the "Loonies" from PortlandHikers.org! Tons of fun!

January 22, 2012 4 miles 1,250 feet gained

Neahkahnie Mountain with Roy & Thum from PortlandHikers! Quite the show from the wind and trees! I've never walked across a large root cluster when it was coming up out of the ground due to its connected tree whipping back and forth in the wind. And there was a tree with dead animal tails hanging from it!

January 17, 2012 4.5 miles 500 feet gained

Well, I was gonna go up to Council Crest and head North on the Wildwood... but my feet and legs were wet before I even turned off of Scholls Ferry Rd. to head up Patton (on foot). January 3, 2012 6.5 miles 1,500 feet gained

My first hike of 2012 and, while I wasn't able to make it out of town or do a "loony" hike, it was a great morning for a stroll through some of Portland's trail system. I did the Marquam Trail to Council Crest Out-and-Back for breakfast this morning (started around 7am), except I did it backward. I got dropped off below Council Crest where Talbot turns into ...
