June 27, 2012 Council Crest 9.5 miles 1,750 feet gained

This trip was an attempt to turn the Marquam Trail loop into something that is more than 10.0mi and 2,000ft elevation gain so I can classify it as one of my "goal hikes". Marquam Trail. Started at the Zoo, then up to the Crest and down to Terwilliger and back to the Crest. This is my warmup hike for the 30mi through-hike of the Wildwood Trail this weekend

January 22, 2012 Neahkahnie Mountain 4 miles 1,250 feet gained

Neahkahnie Mountain with Roy & Thum from PortlandHikers! Quite the show from the wind and trees! I've never walked across a large root cluster when it was coming up out of the ground due to its connected tree whipping back and forth in the wind. And there was a tree with dead animal tails hanging from it!

January 17, 2012 Cemetery Reservoir 4.5 miles 500 feet gained

Well, I was gonna go up to Council Crest and head North on the Wildwood... but my feet and legs were wet before I even turned off of Scholls Ferry Rd. to head up Patton (on foot). I turned around at Patton and headed home to get dry. This is only on here because the slush and snow/ice, as well as the pack, made it more than a normal surface road walk.

Council Crest to Wildwood and back, then Council Crest to Terwilliger and back. Elevation gain and mileage are educated-estimates as GPS wasn't working, will re-do for proper measurements.
