Smokey day so I walked up mostly dry Walupt creek to a beautiful pond just before the PCT junction. Complete bird sanctuary, but the only one willing to pose was a Grey Jay. Refreshed myself back at Walupt lake and tried to get a few photos through the smoke.

This looks like a pretty hike. Is this the trail you can use to loop with the Nannie Ridge trail out of Walupt Lake?

Yes! from Walupt Lake up this trail to The PCT up Pct to Sheep Lake JCT and then down Nannie ridge. The ponds a the end were great, but the rest of the trial would be much more enjoyable if Walupt creek was actually running.
