11.5 miles of hiking • 4000' elevation gain •
Did one of the hikes on my to-do list today. Went up Elk first, then looped around to the King's Mountain summit. Finished off by walking the trail that runs along the highway back to the Elk Creek Campground.
There's some pretty steep terrain between the two mountains but it was a lot of fun. There's a small amount of snow left on the road but other than that it's melted out. However, it was trying really hard to snow today.
Overall this is one of my favorite hikes so far, with some great views and some fun rock scrambling.

Cool, that's a fun traverse. Going to do it in July, before it starts to snow again... :)
