Covered in ice until to reach the unpaved section at the prison. There were tons of people in all sorts of vehicles out there sled riding though...kinda surprised me with the main road from Hockinson as treacherous as it was.

Wow! To hit Larch in that distance, you must've started at Grouse Vista? I wouldn't have thought that accessible. And you came in from the north?
I came in from the west just for that reason. The DNR has reworked a bunch of trails in there and to be honest, the trail names are a it confusing. If anyone's interested, I found a mountain biking map that appears to be current. I'll add it as a pic. The trail I came up is referred to as "Murphys grade" on the map.
Interesting! I'll have to check that out. Looks like a good way to get up there.
