Hey Kyle, no problem really, I'm worried I'm creating too much drag on your server when posting over on PH.org.Might be coming up with something soon on my server to ease this up a bit when I post loony hike pix from 4 different hikers cameras. The date/time thing is solved by just changing everybody's picture attributes to the same value...
No no no no, please keep posting them here. It's important to me that this is the place where you want to put your photos, so please let me know anything I can do to keep that happening.
Kyle, I'd just be worried in the future that the links will become unvalid, I've had the same URL for over 10 years now for something else and might be getting another hiking related URL. :) I just don't want to be a drag on your server since there are so many views on PH when I post these great TR's and all these photos...
Oops, invalid, not unvalid lol :) I love WH dude, don't get me wrong and I thank you very much for creating this!
The server has plenty of capacity, I don't pay for data usage (this is a virtual private server), and don't worry: the data you load here is yours. If I ever shut this site down, I'll give people plenty of notice and create an export feature to allow you to mass download all the data you've added here. I say as much on the privacy policy page.
My long-term plan is to make Went Hiking my full time job, so unless things really go to shit, this site will be around for the next 20+ years. By keeping your content here, your photos and trip reports will become data that fuels the next generation of a portlandhikersfieldguide.org.
My hope is to soon build in the option to customize your profile page on Went Hiking to make it more your own. You'll be able to buy a custom domain for your page, and theme it with your own CSS to make your own style of hiking blog.
Stick with the site! And please do let me know how I can improve your experience. I really, really don't want you to post your content elsewhere.
Hope to hike with you soon,
Kyle
Hey Kyle, there is still that issue of being able to organize uploaded pictures in any order the user wants regardless of all the different time/date stamps there might be. As it is now, I just erase all the compiled pictures time/date stamps and upload in the order of natural progression of the hike, so I found a temporary work around...

I'm so sorry you're posting these photos one at a time. Fix in the works!
