Great forest trek up an old service road followed by some serious wilderness trekking off the beaten path. A machete and a chain saw would have been helpful for this one-serious overgrowth and fell trees/rocks all along the path.

Looks like Moffett Creek trail? Did you go to the Nesmith trail and back the way you came? I did Nesmith trail this weekend via Moffett Creek on Saturday.
