Memaloose Tunnels & Falls

0

I toured this set of decommissioned tunnels & roads that run along the Memaloose Creek & South Fork of the Clackamas River on my birthday this year. We started from Memaloose Road and the first decommissioned forest road. The hike in to the first cliff isn't bad. However, when you reach the edge to begin the decent to the creek edge it's very tough. Luckily some kind person attached ropes to the trees to help with the descent. It was wet, muddy and full of loose rock. At the bottom we followed the trail, which was much more traversed than it was in the forums. However, there were lots of rocks, washouts, downed logs and slippery points. The trail covers about 3 miles with 3 + tunnels (depending on how far you get and if you want to jump over the scary log bridge). It also has three waterfalls before the log bridge. I only covered two during my trip.
