The swamp was flooded this day because of days of heavy rains. Many of the trails were impassable. We were forced to walk through shin-deep water for about a mile to the train tracks in order to get back to the car.

A beaver passed us with a stick in its mouth while we were walking through the water.

Take note that this is a swamp! During times of heavy rains, this area does flood and many of the trails are impassable.
