Kiri & Mary went hiking May 17, 2012 6 miles 1,000 feet gained
Solo Kiri: First time up this particular route to Council Crest. You get a bit of a breather on the way up as opposed to starting from Duniway Park and simply climbing straight up. Went left at Marquam Hill Road which added about 4/10s of a mile via the upper Marquam Trail, looped back via the "easier" route. Tons of slugs on the trail. The view from up top was hot and hazy. A few trail runners, and a couple dog walkers near the top, but the bottom part of Terwilliger Trail was completely empty. I'm beginning to really enjoy climbing that hill! I ended the hike at Bambuza Vietnamese Bistro for a noodle bowl with Mary - it's a couple blocks from the OHSU Tram, and very tasty.
