Nice trail, just a bit of snow in places, just enough to make things beautiful but not enough to use snowshoes. It was snowing lightly most of the time, but we entirely escaped the rain. On the way back found the best (unofficial and unsigned) campsite I could possibly dream of.

Weeping wall Weeping wall - close up The trail was clear even at canyon overlook - where I expected the most snow It is the second viewpoint, about a mile up trail from canyon overlook. It was snowing hard, but still almost no snow under the trees Goat Creek camp (I found only one camp spot since I never been there in summer and everything was covered with 5-8 inches of fresh powder) Goat Creek crossing (note the snow-free trail on the other side) Nice tributary stream Rhododendron country - should be nice there in summer! I've been out there a few times myself—that's a beautiful trail. It's too bad you didn't go see Frustration Falls, although that might have been really scary with snow on the ground.

Kind of saw the falls on Salmon River from the overlook - that might be either Frustration or Final Falls... I've been several times on this trail too - it's one of my favorite hikes close to town.
