Chains were required because of all the ice, so this was my first time trying these Autosocks. They're like big shower caps. They worked extremely well, and were super easy to take on and off—you just had to keep it under 30mph. There were lots of Gray Jays out, picking up the scraps. And this cool little woodpecker. There was a nice coating of rime ice on everything above tree line.
