A very rainy and cold hike from Multnomah Falls to Larch Mountain. No views at Sherrard Point, but Multnomah Creek was full of water again and the forest was foggy and lovely as ever.

It is so beautiful, Woodswalker! I really want to hike the Bell Creek trail, where you hiked.
It's a wonderful place. If you descend into it, the Larch mt gate is supposed to be open until Thanksgiving. The way up from below is also great although I haven't made it the full way. On the Oregon hikers website some of the trip reports share bypass paths that avoid the sketchy log crossing of Oneonta.
My other favorite go-to hike! Your photos are excellent. They capture it so nicely.
Another other favorite is Bell Creek, I guess. :-) Don't believe anyone that suggests you need to ford Oneonta! The bypass has turned into a pretty real trail, now.
Woodswalker, thanks for the tips. I guess I don't have a lot of time until the gate closes. But, going up from the Oneonta trail sounds fascinating, as well!
Karl, thanks! The camera lens kept getting wet, so I did not manage to get too many photos. At least these photos turned out ok! And, thanks, I'll have to read some old trip reports on Bell Creek trail to see what you and WW are talking about.
When you get to the second bridge over Oneonta, just veer left to stay on the east side of the creek. The user trail has really come into its own, compared to when I wrote it up three years ago...

You guys have me wondering if this might be a good one to do tomorrow (11/15)!
One of these days I'll figure out the link syntax!

LOL... I give up...
Karl, thanks for the link. That stuff is all greek to me. I am lucky that I am able to post a few pictures in a report here. :)
Looking at your report, you really have had some good luck in finding wonderful conditions for hikes! Wow, the Triple Falls comparison - so cool! Yeah, maybe tomorrow's weather would make for a really good hike!

Love the various parts of this hike! On my list to do the full thing this year.
