Fun time climbing up Elevator Shaft to wander around Multnomah Basin. Great detour halfway up to look out over the viewpoint just beyond Meadow Ridge. Still can't figure out the approach to there from Multnomah Creek. The ornament trail sure has exploded in popularity since I was last up there two years ago! Only saw one other human up top, lots more coming back down the flipflopper route.

Where you were below Meadow ridge is where Craig fell from above. I've never been past Cougar Rock on the trail above Elevator Shaft. I'm gonna have to use your gps track and see if I can find Waespe Pt, Ornament trail, and Nesika Lodge. Never seen any of them. The Buick too!

Also, 3 different meetup groups (~36 people) were decorating the ornament trail on Sat & Sun. No doubt why so popular!

So were we right in assuming that green mossy thing (in photos) is what's being called Meadow Ridge? We tried to envision where Craig went down, but weren't sure. Saw a couple of user trails going down. Can't imagine actually using either one of them, though!

Lots of exploring to do up there! We purposely avoided the meetup groups. Only saw one other human in the Basin all day, although lots more once back down on Larch Mtn trail.
