Due to a late start we already knew we likely wouldn't make it to the top of Icicle Ridge, but when we encountered the rattlesnake hiding in the brush right next to the trail at approx 3800 ft (2 miles in) we elected to take pictures and turn around. It didn't seem too threatened so walking past it could've worked out just fine. It did know how to hide exceptionally well by wrapping itself around the brush and slightly sticking out it's head onto the trail. (the pictures were taken as it moved towards us down to the rock for a few minutes until returning back up to it's hiding spot)
